Excellent article! Last week I was called out twice for calling Claude “him.” My assumption right now is that, 1. By giving the AI a human name, it makes it easier to personalize it; and 2. I’m building a custom front end, so it feels more personal to me now. In any case, it’s very interesting to get caught up in anthropomorphizing the AI when you’re pretty sure you haven’t been doing it in the first place.
It's natural to react to chatbots with human reactions. But it's also good that it made you think.

Sometimes we can be so sure about something that we have no reason to question it. And then it dawns on us: We don’t know what we don’t know :-)
